Zoey's Story

Meet Zoey 💕

Zoey is a sweet little dachshund who will be turning 13 years young on January 20. She’s mastered the art of the good life—lounging, snuggling, and enjoying her favorite healthy snacks like carrots, blueberries, watermelon, and of course, a well-earned salmon dog treat.

Zoey has allergies and does best on a specific diet, along with one daily allergy pill, which she takes like a champ.6 months of her medication will be provided. at adoption .We are confident that once she settles into her forever home her hair will come back .She has very little fur and feels most comfortable sporting a cozy sweater, especially on cooler days.

Because of her long back, Zoey would need a home with absolutely no stairs. While she enjoys other dogs, we believe she would truly thrive as the only dog, where she can be doted on as the little princess she is.

Zoey has been diagnosed with IVDD, a condition many dachshund lovers are familiar with. It is not currently causing her any issues, but adopters should have a basic understanding of IVDD and be prepared to support her if needed in the future.

A rare gem for her breed—Zoey is not a barker! Thanks to her calm and gentle nature, she would do wonderfully in an apartment setting, especially with access to a small potty patch on a balcony or deck.

Zoey is incredibly affectionate, sweet-natured, and loving. She’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a devoted lap dog to cherish and spoil throughout her golden years.

DOXIE & FRIENDS RESCUE always has the best interest of the dog at heart. We feel it is our responsibility to place them in the best homes that will not only provide them with love, but ones that are a match . We acquire an application to be filled out . Please know that we are not trying to judge anyone's lifestyle. We only want to ensure that these dogs ,(many of whom have already had a difficult life ) find the very best homes where they can live their years in healthy, safe and loving environments. In order to protect our rescues, all adopters will be required to sign an adoption contract . With every life that is rescued, DOXIE & FRIENDS RESCUE takes responsibility for their placement. For any reason you can no longer care for your adopted dog the dog MUST be returned to DOXIE & FRIENDS RESCUE so that we can find another home. Adopters may not search for placement on their own . We do not offer "refunds" as any monies paid are a donation and not a "payment for goods and/or services". However, if you are a qualified candidate, we will offer an exchange for another dog if appropriate.
