Zoey's Story

Meet Zoe!

Zoe is a sweet, goofy senior girl who has absolutely mastered the art of enjoying the good life. Give her a warm bed, a tasty treat, and a person to cuddle with, and she is very happy.

Her foster describes her as incredibly easygoing and affectionate. Zoe is perfectly content spending much of the day snoozing nearby, but every so often she’ll wake up feeling inspired and surprise you with an adorable burst of zoomies, bouncing around the room like she suddenly remembered she has places to be. She also loves leisurely walks and is always happy to get outside for a little fresh air and exploring.

Zoe is also quite the conversationalist. She has a whole collection of happy grunts, little grumbles, and funny noises that she uses to share her opinions, especially when food or scratches are involved. Despite having plenty to say, she isn’t much of a barker.

More than anything, Zoe loves being close to her people. She is a true cuddle bug and would be an excellent companion for someone looking for a laid-back best friend to curl up with on the couch, binge-watch a show, and enjoy a slower pace of life.

She does well meeting other dogs and is happy to let them come over for a hello, though she generally seems more interested in her humans than making dog friends. She is curious about cats and may be a little enthusiastic at first, but she settles as she gets used to them.

Zoe is also wonderfully polite about letting you know when she needs a potty break, quietly making her way to the door when it’s time to head outside.

She’s affectionate, funny, gentle, and wonderfully easy to have around. If your idea of the perfect dog is a cuddly couch companion who still has the occasional goofy streak and a lot of personality, Zoe may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.

Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!

True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy
First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
