Zoey's Story
Meet Zoey!

Zoey is a 6 month old Heeler girl who is as loving as they come! This sweet, affectionate girl is working hard on learning how to be the best dog she can be, and she’s already showing just how smart and willing she is to learn.

Zoey is currently working on basic obedience and good doggy manners. She has great play skills with other dogs and enjoys having a good time, but she also has a wonderful off switch and knows how to settle down when the fun is over.

She is very people oriented and would happily spend her days right next to her person. She loves being close, making eye contact, and checking in with you this girl is definitely looking for a true best friend!

Zoey is still working through some things. She can be fussy in her crate, although she is improving. She also has separation anxiety, which has been getting better with time and consistency. She has shown some resource guarding with food and toys, so her adopters will need to continue working on appropriate sharing and boundaries.

Being a Heeler, Zoey also has a strong chase drive toward cars, something her foster family is actively working on. She will need a home committed to continuing her training and keeping her safe around roads and traffic.

The good stuff? Zoey is absolutely amazing with kids and has been wonderful around cats with no prey drive observed so far.

Zoey is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and dewormed.

She’s a smart, affectionate, playful young Heeler who is still figuring out the world. With continued structure, patience, exercise, and training, this girl has so much potential!

Zoey is looking for a committed home ready to help her become the amazing dog we know she can be.

Submit an application at Hdrescueoregon.com. $400 adoption fee.
