It was a long ride to Connecticut to the vet we use. She does not do well on long rides. I tried to feed her early, but she still got sick. I am going to get dramamine for her and try it. In the 2 weeks she has been here, she has blossomed into the sweetest young lady. As most dogs coming from commercial breeders, when she first arrived she stayed off to the side in the living room and when I wanted her it was catch me if you can. Now I call her and she comes to me with tail wagging. She likes to eat some food and then go back and forth til it's gone. I put her pain pills in her food and she eats them right up. She has started chewing on her toys. She likes the nylabone type. She enjoys the blueberry treats we have for our other 2 dogs here. I will do some leash training when she feels better. She has never had an accident in the house. Once she got used to the flight of stairs out to the yard, she is happy to go out and do her business. She is bonding with
me. I want her to go to her forever home soon so she can start her new life. She is a pleasure!

11/7/24-Ziva got groomed today. What a difference! She was very good while Lauren was shampooing and cutting. She didn't like the hair dryer very much. She is doing better on the stairs. Every day she is gaining confidence and hopefully a little weight. She loves to run around in the backyard. She even found a rabbit to chase the other night. Her eating schedule is a bit drawn out. I put her food down and then walk away. Then she will go over to it and eat some of it. She takes a little walk around and goes back for some more. After she gets spayed next week I'm sure she will be on a regular schedule. She is a very easy going girl. It takes some encouragement to do things, but when she gets it, she will do it. She has gotten very nosy as she gets more comfortable. Our 2 resident chihuahuas go about their business and Ziva does the same. The boys are on the couch and Ziva lies on the floor in front of them. She crates in the kitchen overnight. She likes to wake up about 3am & howl a couple of times and then go back to sleep. She really is a sweet dog. She will be a great addition to any loving family.

11/02/24-My new foster Ziva just arrived after a long day of transport. She walked around the house and checked out her new foster home, got a drink and is taking a rest. She will have a spa day on the 7th by our favorite local groomer Lauren! Looking forward to seeing her blossom into a happy, healthy girl.

11/01/24-Ziva is a very beautiful 12 month old female Standard Poodle puppy. She came in from a commercial breeder as she just got too old to sell. She arrived safely into our rescue tonight thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. We had got her sibling Zorro out back in September & were finally able to get Ziva out too. She is being spayed on Thursday 11/14 & then will be ready for her new home!
