What is your name?<br/>Zippy!<br/><br/>How old are you?<br/>I am approx 1 yr old<br/><br/>How much do you weigh?<br/>27 lbs<br/><br/>What do you look like?<br/>I am a grey and white Lhasa Apso. I think I am purebred<br/>I’m fluffy and soft!<br/><br/>What do you like to eat?<br/>I eat my kibble (Taste of the Wild Sierra Mountain) and any treats my foster Mom gives me. I don’t like to take the treats from her hand but if she drops them close to me I will pick them up to eat.<br/><br/>What kind of personality do you have?<br/>I am a very playful, lovable girl who is so happy to be in a home! At first I was very scared and it took me a day or so before I really believed my Foster Mom was OK.<br/>I lived in a field for many, many months with my brother. Very scary, more about that later<br/><br/>Describe your perfect day:<br/>My perfect day would be cuddling on the couch, playing with my doggie friends, eating and napping!<br/><br/>What is your favorite toy?<br/>I haven’t found a favorite toy yet. I do tend to rip up my bedding and have been known to un-stuff a toy or two.<br/>So far I have been happy with Bully Sticks when I’m allowed to have one<br/><br/>Do you know any tricks?<br/>No tricks yet, I am a good girl though!<br/><br/>What scares you?<br/>New things scare me a little. I’ve gotten very used to my foster home and know that everything here is OK but when something new happens I have to question whether I’m in danger.<br/>I’ve found that it is always nothing to be concerned about, my foster Mom and Dad make sure I’m never in danger so I’m beginning to realize the world isn’t as scary as I once thought.<br/><br/>Have you been around children? Do you like them?<br/>I haven’t been around children but I think if I met them I might really like them<br/><br/>Do you like cats?<br/>I have not met any of these creatures<br/><br/>How do you feel about other dogs?<br/>I like other dogs! I like to play and hang out with them. I even had a foster brother that was a bit of a bully (he was even smaller than me!) and I still wanted to play with him!<br/>I haven’t met a dog yet that I don’t like and my foster home has lots of them (big and small)<br/><br/>If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?<br/>In a home, all cuddled up and warm with my human family very close by<br/><br/>How is your health?<br/>I am in excellent health<br/><br/>Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?<br/>I love with my foster Mom and Dad. They have A LOT of dogs, they have their own dogs and then they foster a lot of other dogs.<br/>My best pal was Yogi, who has since gone to another home and I haven’t found another “bestie” yet but there sure are a lot of choose from<br/><br/>Where do you hang out when you are home alone?<br/>When all of us dogs are here along I stay in my kennel in the family, along with Shasta (who is also in a kennel) and now Percy is here in his kennel so it isn’t lonely. They are home a lot so we aren’t alone too much anyway.<br/><br/>Where do you sleep?<br/>I sleep in a crate in the bedroom with everyone else!<br/><br/>Do you like walking on a leash?<br/>I do like walking on leash as long as I remember that the leash isn’t there to “catch me” and make me go places I don’t want to go. (see below as to my life before NBBR)<br/><br/>Do you have any &quot;not-so-great&quot; habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard?<br/>I’m not a big barker. I DO like to whine when I need attention but we’re working on that. My foster Mom says that is NOT the way to ask for attention so I’m learning proper ways to ask!<br/><br/>Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside)<br/>YES, even though I lived in a field for months and months I am house trained and will let you know when I need to go potty<br/><br/>Do you like playing in water?<br/>I am very good when I am getting bathed but I’m not sure about playing in water…I guess I’ll have to check it out when the weather is warmer<br/><br/>What do you love about your foster family?<br/>I love that they are patient with me. They understand that I was traumatized when I was stray and they are always showing me, gently, how good things can be! I can relax now and enjoy being in a home<br/><br/>What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue?<br/>Well, life for me before NBBR was no fun AT ALL!<br/>I was stray in a field with another dog (who they thought was my brother). Good Samaritans from the neighborhood tried and tried to catch me. They called City of Sacramento Front St Animal Shelter to come trap me but my friends (those trying to help me) didn’t get any response from AC besides to say there was nowhere they could place a trap because it was just a big field.<br/>My friends kept trying and trying to catch me but I was too scared and too fast. The other dog (who they thought was my brother) was captured and brought to animal Control and they sent him to Oregon. They had to tranquilize me to catch me…then they put me in a dark, cold kennel in the shelter where I only stayed in the very back corner and wouldn’t move. One of my friends contacted a volunteer at NBBR who alerted the founder. Right away they made sure I was on hold for them to pick up!<br/>Now I am safely and happily in a foster home which feels so good and I just know I am going to find my forever home very quickly!<br/><br/>Interested in meeting Zippy?
