Ziggy's Story

Ziggy came into rescue from a rural, out-of-state shelter after their Animal Control found him injured. The shelter determined that he had a broken pelvis and left rear leg, probably from being hit by a car. Most shelters do not have the human or financial resources to treat an animal that needs major surgery. When he got to Colorado, he had surgery to put his pelvis back together with a plate, and to fix his leg using a screw to hold the pieces together. He’s fully recovered now.

Ziggy enjoys going outside, and gets along well with other dogs in his foster home and seems to be pretty much housetrained. He enjoys people attention and lots of lap time too. Because of his injuries, we would like to see him go into an adult home, perhaps a retired couple, or someone who works from home. He would like to have a fenced-in backyard that he can wander around in and perhaps a canine companion to keep him company and play with. He cannot do a lot of stairs.

Ziggy is neutered, he is up to date on his vaccinations (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and microchipped. He also had his teeth cleaned and a couple removed while in rescue. If you would like to meet Ziggy, go to cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete the on-line adoption application. We suggest that you print a copy of the application before you hit the “submit” button, just in case! We will give you a call to set up a time to bring Ziggy for a visit.
