Ziggy's Story

We accidentally ended up with a very sweet little puppy man! Meet Ziggy! He was too terrified to be touched in the pound and terrified of the leash, but once we got him out he warmed up really fast and turned out to just be a scared little baby. Probably about 8-9 months one and 15lbs full grown, he’s definitely part chihuahua with maybe some pug or something else with a big squishy wrinkly head 🤷‍♀️. He loves other dogs, jumps on you to ask to be picked up, and is playful and sweet once he feels safe. He definitely was never on a leash before and probably never went outside so will need work on housebreaking and socializing to the outside world. He would definitely like another doggie role model to help boost his confidence. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Thank you for looking to open your home to a needy dog during this difficult time * Since most of our dogs live in foster homes instead of kennels, we get to know their personalities pretty well and have an idea of the type of home that would be ideal for them. We do our best to match you with a pet who will work out in your household, which is why we ask you to fill out the application below. It gives us information about your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a dog so we can find a match. Though we hope every adoption will be a success, we realize that sometimes once the pet gets into a home problems could arise and you may realize this is not the right dog for you. We always take our animals back at any time in their lifetime if they do not work out. We do not want them passed around or ending up in other shelters. If you are unable to keep your adopted pet, we require that they be returned to us so they can return to the foster home to which they have become accustomed. All of our dogs have been altered and given their vaccinations by our veterinarians as well as other necessary medical attention. Our adoption fees vary, generally up to $350 depending on the animal's breed, age, health, adoptability, and how much we have had to spend on them medically. All adoption fees are considered donations and go directly toward the medical care of our pets. Donations will be greatly appreciated as all our funding comes from our adoption fees, donations, and small fundraisers. All donations go directly toward medical care and supplies for our animals and are tax-deductible (we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit).
