Zeus's Story

At 7 years old and 92 pounds, Zeus is a handsome Dogo Argentino mix with a calm presence and a heart that’s even bigger than his head. This laid-back gentleman has mastered the art of keeping all four paws on the floor and prefers a relaxed lifestyle filled with soft beds, gentle strolls, and quality time with his favorite people.

Zeus is known around the shelter as a certified ladies’ man and an all-around staff favorite. He soaks up affection, leans in for pets, and flashes the sweetest smile when he’s feeling content. While he’s mostly a couch-potato hippo, he still surprises everyone with little bursts of playful energy — especially if a toy is involved. (Yes, he sploots. And yes, it’s adorable.)

After waiting over 600 days for his forever home — and experiencing the confusion of being returned — Zeus deserves stability, patience, and someone who sees just how special he truly is.

Zeus can live with children and he is dog selective but we are open to meet & greets to see him he can find a good match (no small dogs, please), but he’ll need a cat-free home. He’s neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm/Lyme negative — completely ready to settle in and start the next chapter of his life.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who brings calm energy, quiet devotion, and just the right amount of goofy charm, Zeus is ready to wander into your heart — and hopefully, into his forever home.
