Zeus's Story

Thursday morning update. Zeus passed his cat test. He was curious at first but once the cat hissed at him his feelings were hurt and he avoided the cat the rest of the time!
🚨Meet Zeus 🚨 (make sure to check out his fun video in the comments as well, the slow morning catching the ball is on point 🤣)
AKA: Professional Smiler, Part-Time Tennis Ball Hoarder, Full-Time Good Boy.
At 4 years old, Zeus is a giant love bug wrapped up in one ridiculously handsome Chesapeake Bay Retriever package. Seriously, pictures and videos do NOT do this boy justice. He is absolutely gorgeous in person.
Zeus wakes up every single day like it’s the best day of his life. He is ALWAYS smiling, always excited to see people, and honestly just wants to be near you. His favorite hobby? Standing up on his hind legs to “hug” you so you’ll pet his face. 😭❤️
(Yes, he does need to work on the jumping, but when you realize he’s basically just an oversized teddy bear asking for affection, it’s hard not to laugh.)
Today we took this “water dog” down to the water expecting Olympic-level retrieving skills. Zeus had other plans. 😂
He proudly marched into the water chest-deep and that was IT.
If the stick went farther out? Congratulations to the fish. That stick now belongs to the river. Zeus said absolutely not.
Now tennis balls in a backyard? THAT is his sport. This guy could play fetch all day long. The only tiny issue is, he brings the ball back but refuses to actually give it back. 🤦‍♀️🤣
So if you adopt Zeus, we highly recommend keeping several tennis balls on standby for trade negotiations.
Zeus is coming from a home with five other dogs, but if you already have a dog in the home, a dog test will still need to be done. He has not been cat tested. Since he previously lived in a home, he is most likely house trained.
And yes, he is BIG. Very big. But don’t let his size fool you. Zeus is truly a gentle giant with the sweetest heart.
This boy deserves a family that will laugh at his goofy antics, throw endless tennis balls, accept the occasional surprise “hug,” and love him as much as he already loves everyone he meets. ❤️
Let’s find Zeus the amazing home he so truly deserves.
