Zero's Story

Introducing Zero!

Zero is a big-hearted livestock guardian mix with a gentle soul and a deep love for his people. He does well with kids, is great with other dogs, good with cats, and is crate trained (still working on being fully housebroken). Zero enjoys a calm lifestyle and takes his role as a protector seriously. On walks, he prefers a slower pace and does best on a long lead (25+ feet) so he can sniff and explore. He’s polite with other dogs but usually prefers to do his own thing rather than rough play.

Like many guardian breeds, Zero is cautious with strangers. He appreciates people who ignore him at first and allow him to sniff on his own terms. Once he decides someone is safe, he will happily approach for affection.

Zero has a strong training foundation and responds best to a calm, confident leader. He is e-collar trained using vibration and beeps only (no shock). He has good recall, especially when his name is said first, and knows “Sit,” “Down,” “Slow,” “Wait,” “Cross,” “Leave it,” and “Drop it.” He’s currently learning “Spin” and loves working for food.

Zero is looking for a home where he can be the “baby” of the family and would prefer a household without frequent overnight guests. If you’re looking for a loyal, food-loving adventurer who always checks in to make sure he’s doing a good job, Zero is your man.

Apply to meet Zero at www.3acresrescue.com!
