Zena

Zena came to Saving Grace in May 2021. Zena is a sweet and special girl that wants so much to love and be loved. She came from a home that tried to do their best, but they didn't know much, so Zena was kept in a backyard her whole life and never properly socialized. She is 7 years old. Because of this, she can be fearful and protective of her safe places. She is working hard on learning to trust people and be confident in new places. She does well with most other dogs, but needs an adult only home and one that understands her issues and will help work with her to overcome them. Once she trusts you, she wants nothing more than to be at your side every second, she will follow you everywhere and shower you with kisses! Zena was recently diagnosed with heartworms, and will start her treatment in a few weeks, and she will be available to adopt once she is heartworm free. We are requiring that her adopters enroll in an approved training program to help give Zena her best life possible. She is house trained and kennel trained, knows some basic commands, and loves to go for walks. She loves to snuggle her people and will give you her paw to beg for pets until you give in.
