What is Geraldine Foundation for Strays - GFStrays’s adoption process?

Potential adopters and foster-to-adopt persons will be contacted ASAP - we will respond to texts, direct phone calls & email inquiries. We do background checks and require personal references and Vet references as part of the adoption process. As part of the adopt/foster process a home check will be required as well as a photo ID. Preliminary jpgs of the home, other pets and/or children living in the home and the space the dog will be cared for in may also be requested prior to the home-check. We are primarily focused on dog placement in the New Jersey and New York areas. Whenever possible we will arrange for mutually agreeable meets and transport if required. What is Zena’s adoption fee?

Is Zena good with kids?

Zena is good with kids under the age of 5 and kids over the age of 5.

Is Zena good with other animals?

Zena is good with other dogs. Zena is not good with cats.

When can I meet Zena?

As soon as the adoption organization has a chance to review your information, they’ll reach out with next steps and timing.

When can I adopt Zena?

Time to adopt varies, but typically adoption organizations require an official application prior to adoption. If you’re a match, they’ll reach out with next steps and timing.
