Zena's Story

**If interested, please do not send us a message through PetFinder. Instead, please go to our website to fill out an application: www.projectpawsdogrescue.com. The adoption fee is $975.**

Say hello to Zena! This beautiful girl is mom to Ziggy, Willie, Douglas and Ash. Zena is a Husky, approximately 2 years old and about 55lbs. She and her pups came to us from a remote Northern Manitoban community, quite skinny after nursing her babies, but we are getting her weight back within normal range.

Zena is an absolute gem of a girl. She is quiet for a Husky—does not bark when she hears the doorbell—but will chat when she wants something. She loves all people and pets alike; she has met all the kids in her foster's neighbourhood and is always happy to come in to say hello.

Zena is amazing on leash, no pulling—unless she sees a squirrel, that is. She is also a great sidekick in the car and travels well. She loves other dogs and is excited to run with them whenever given the opportunity. She doesn't know her size, however, and can rough-house a little too much with smaller dogs. Zena loves being outside and is happiest sitting on the deck, watching the birds and squirrels.

This girl is an independent lady but she is always content to receive affection, belly scratches and a head pat. Zena is housetrained but is terrified of the crate. Her fosters have been slowly working on her cratetraining, but when she has been left home alone, she has not been destructive.

Zena is still in the process of completing her vetting, but will be available for adoption in the coming weeks and we are accepting application on her now.
