Sudden movements and noise can frighten her, and she could react out of fear if pushed too quickly. Very dog-savvy, older children may be considered in the future once we know her better, but for now, an adult-only home is best. Through time given for decompression, she has displayed that she is quite the character. We laugh at her silly antics everyday. She is always happy to see you, and absolutely loves to snuggle, so think 50 lb lap dog. She is very respectful in the home, and loves her people. She will be happy to follow you wherever you go, and yes that includes car rides! This is my ride or die gal! She rides extremely well in a car, and is very happy to watch all the sights from the back window.

Dogs, cats, and kids: Good with respectful dogs, and cats TBD. She does have a high prey drive towards rabbits, squirrels, and birds.

This girl has survived more than most dogs ever should. What she needs now is someone who will let her heal, go slow, and finally learn what it means to be safe and loved. Zelda's ideal home would be with someone who is home more than not, has a fenced in yard, and possibly a male sibling to play with. She would also be okay as an only dog. She loves people, but needs to be the one to approach someone first so she doesn't feel scared or threatened. This girl has been like a phoenix, she has risen from the brink and has blossomed into a healthy, wonderful companion.

See my videos here and share my journey HERE!
Please visit our website www.gsdrescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
