**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.<br/><br/>Meet Zazu, she is a Chihuahua/terrier mix around 11 pounds and about 2 years old. She is good in the crate and is doing really well learning to go out outside. She loves being outdoors running around, hunting for critters. She can be very active and needs to have that stimulation at home. Loves to play with toys and even chew on a Nila bone too. <br/><br/>Zazu is good in the car. She is currently living with 3 other small dogs and is doing well. She would be better suited to having another small canine companion. She has learned to be patient and wait for her treats and now sits to get them...initially she was very competitive and would try to snatch the other dogs treats, so she has come a long way. She is doing great with going potty outside, only having an accident when her signals are ignored. Zazu loves being with her people, and may follow you from room to room.<br/><br/>She is super sweet, very affectionate and would make a great addition to your home.<br/><br/>Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
