Zayne is up for adoption here at Shiba Rescue of New Jersey!<br/>Zayne is a 2.5-year-old male Black and Tan Shiba who is thrilled to be out of a shelter and in a foster home. He was surrendered to the shelter by his owner because she was going through a difficult situation and could no longer care for him. <br/>We welcomed Zayne into Shiba Rescue of New Jersey on January 30, 2026 and he adapted quickly to his foster home. <br/>Zayne is now ready for a loving furever home where he has plenty of walks and all the petting and snuggles he deserves.<br/>Zayne is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. <br/>He’s fully housetrained and had no accidents in the shelter or in his foster home.<br/>Zayne lived with two other dogs. He was dog and cat tested at the shelter. He was non-reactive with the cats and did well with smaller dogs. He would need to meet any other dogs in the household of potential adopters to make sure he is compatible. He enjoys the<br/>company and attention of humans and would be content as an only dog. <br/>Zayne is active and curious. He loves exploring the neighborhood on walks. He's also happy to snuggle on a couch or rest in a dog bed or enjoy shafts of sunlight—especially if a<br/>human is nearby. <br/>Zayne follows his foster mom around the house, but he also shows<br/>confidence and will explore the house on his own. <br/>He’ll let you know when he wants to be petted, pawing for extra attention. It's So Adorable!<br/>Zayne sleeps through the night without any accidents. <br/>He is eager to start the day with plenty of tail wags and<br/>enthusiastic kisses—and, of course, his first walk of the day. <br/>He runs to the door any time he thinks there’s a possibility of going out, and he chirps with excitement. <br/>Zayne would love an active family who enjoys being outside with him.<br/>Zayne would definitely benefit with a secured fenced in yard so he can burn off his energy and run and do his zoomies which he loves to do.<br/>Zayne doesn’t mind being brushed. <br/>He takes treats gently and politely sits when he would like a taste of food. He’s generally quiet, rarely barking.<br/>Zayne jumps and can be “mouthy” when excited (putting his mouth around a hand or arm), but he doesn’t bite down.
