Meet Zane! Dob 2/23/25<br/><br/>We have made a commitment to take in Zane at the beginning of the year. Zane is a young dog who was born last February and has been diagnosed with double hip dysplasia. This condition requires significant surgical intervention, which also comes with substantial cost.<br/><br/>Zane's surgery will take place at Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough. In preparation for his procedure and subsequent recovery, we are seeking a dedicated foster home that can provide care and support for Zane throughout this critical period.<br/><br/>The ideal foster home will provide a calm environment, help manage Zane's mobility restrictions, and support his rehabilitation as guided by the veterinarian. If you or someone you know is interested in fostering Zane, please let us know as soon as possible so we can arrange the next steps and relieve this pups pain.<br/><br/>His story: His mother was found abandoned and pregnant<br/><br/>Zane is at our partner rescue in Alabama and will be transported to Maine the first of the year. <br/><br/>Litter mates are: Zora, Zilly and Zyla<br/><br/><br/><br/>PLEASE NOTE - We will check your veterinary reference, to ensure that current and prior dogs have a history of being kept up to date on rabies and distemper, <br/>Current pets must by spayed/neutered.<br/><br/>YOUR ADOPTION FEE COVERS: Transport to Maine, age specific vaccinations, Health certificate, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming & martingale collar.<br/><br/>Adoption fees: <br/>Through 6 months of age $450; <br/>7 months to through 5 years $400; <br/>6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500; <br/>9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300 <br/><br/>This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption. This dog is in foster care locally, ONLY if Maine is listed next to the dogs name; otherwise, the dog is still waiting with our partner rescue for an adoption or foster home in New England. <br/><br/>All dogs have a current Health Certificate for transport. All imported dogs are quarantined 14 days prior to getting on transport.ve had annual heartworm tests and are on heartworm preventative. <br/><br/>FOR PUPPIES: PLEASE READ!!<br/>Homes considering Puppies must be prepared for:<br/>Flexible Schedules for Potty Training. Puppies can only hold urine for one hour per month of age. Crate Training for the next 10 months to keep them safe from chewing on everything in your home. Supervision with Children and Obedience training. <br/>Socialization; both with new people, children and other dogs outside of the home.<br/>Homes that want a well behaved dog, must be prepared to put the time, effort and costs associated to train a puppy.
