Zamira #1's Story

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Zamira #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our
adoption application
so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours
(please check your spam folder for our emails)
.

Zamira | 15-Week-Old Lab Mix | Playful Explorer with a Snuggly Side

Zamira is a 15-week-old Lab mix weighing 28 pounds, with a beautiful black-and-white coat and a bright, curious spirit. She’s a happy, playful puppy who loves being part of whatever her people are doing—and after playtime, she’s just as content to curl up next to you for some snuggles. She’s been out and about to soccer games, baseball practices, and even places like Home Depot, where she has been very well behaved. She loves car rides, is wonderful on leash, and is always eager to meet new people.

Zamira is making progress with housetraining but will need continued consistency and routine, as she doesn’t yet signal when she needs to go out. She is also working on crate training and settles nicely after a little initial protest. She already knows “sit,” “down,” “come,” and “no,” and is a smart, food-motivated pup who enjoys learning.

Zamira has had positive interactions with dogs of all sizes and absolutely loves to play. She would do great in a home with another playful pup or as a solo dog with plenty of social opportunities. She has done well with children, including kids around 9 years old and up, and she loves all people equally. Because of her exuberant puppy energy, she is not a good fit for a home with cats.

With her medium-to-high energy level, Zamira would thrive in an active home that can provide exercise, structure, and continued training. She’s a fun, social, and affectionate pup who’s ready to grow into an amazing adventure buddy and loyal companion.

If you
and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.

The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.

Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.

Please fill out an adoption application by clicking
here
. Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.
PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/

Our adoption process is:

1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
