Zadi 's Story

Hi, I’m Zadi. And if life were a bakery, I’d be the emotional support dessert you didn’t realize you needed. I’m basically the canine version of a warm slice of homemade apple pie — sweet, comforting, and guaranteed to make your entire day better just by existing in the same room. My greatest talent is being easy to love and even easier to live with. I’m the kind of dog who quietly slides into your life like I’ve always been there, making everything feel a little softer, a little sweeter, and a lot more peaceful. Basically, if you’ve ever wished you could adopt a feeling — specifically the feeling of having your favorite dessert and your favorite blanket combined — congratulations. You’ve just met me. I’m Zadi. And I am very good at this whole being wonderful thing. 🍰🐾

I’m a 1½-year-old, 71-lb female Great Pyrenees who somehow ended up in a shelter. How no one came looking for me is a mystery for the ages. Truly baffling. A real “how did someone misplace a literal treasure?” situation. But while that chapter doesn’t make much sense, the next one absolutely will — because whoever ends up with me is getting a seriously amazing dog. I’m the kind of girl who makes life easy. Sweet, steady, affectionate, and wonderfully lovable without needing to make a big production about it. Honestly, I’m just a really good dog. The kind that makes people wonder how they got so lucky. Whoever lost me may never know what they missed… but you absolutely could find out. 🐾

How do I get along with other dogs, you ask? Oh, I’m very interested in friendship. Immediately. I do tend to submit my friendship application a little… enthusiastically at first. You know, a polite nudge here, a hopeful “hey do you want to play?” there, maybe standing slightly too close while I wait for your answer. But I’m not clueless. I eventually read the room. If the other dogs aren’t quite ready to accept my extremely generous offer of companionship, I simply pivot. I’ll go ask my person to play or grab a toy and pretend I wasn’t just trying to join their social circle five seconds ago. Once the other dogs decide they’re ready to accept my friendship (excellent choice, by the way), I’m very flexible about the activity. If they want to wrestle and play rough, great — I’m in. If they’d prefer a casual stroll around the yard like we’re discussing neighborhood news, also great. I’m basically a “tell me the vibe and I’ll match it” kind of girl. In summary: I am friendly, adaptable, and slightly eager about making new friends. Cats, you say? Well, I regret to inform you that my current residence does not include any feline roommates, so I have not yet had the honor of conducting a full in-person evaluation. Tragic, really. However, I have observed a cat across the street, and I handled the situation with remarkable maturity. I simply watched quietly like a respectful neighbor minding her own business. For additional evidence of my good judgment, squirrels and birds regularly exist in my presence and I have yet to launch any kind of wildlife-hunting career. I see them, I acknowledge them, and then I go back to my important activities — like being wonderful. So while I can’t provide an official “tested and certified cat roommate” stamp yet, all signs so far point to me being a pretty reasonable housemate. Children, you say? Unfortunately, my current living situation has not yet provided me with any small humans to evaluate. So I cannot officially report on my performance with the under-five-feet-tall, sticky-fingered demographic at this time. So at this time, my official record with children is “untested but extremely charming.” Based on my overall personality — sweet, easygoing, and generally very good at existing — there’s a strong possibility I would handle tiny humans just fine. But until I’ve had the chance to personally review their manners and determine whether they are worthy of my friendship, the jury is technically still out.

My energy level sits comfortably around a 4 out of 10, which is a very respectable number if you ask me. I’m not one of those dogs who wakes up every morning ready to run a marathon, reorganize the furniture, and question your life choices before breakfast. That sounds exhausting. Instead, I prefer a balanced lifestyle. A little activity, a nice walk, maybe some playtime… and then back to my true calling: relaxing nearby and being pleasant company. Basically, I have enough energy to participate in life without turning your home into a cardio training facility. I feel this is a very thoughtful and considerate approach to living. 🐾 Am I an adventure seeker or more of a homebody? I enjoy new experiences. Walks, outings, exploring a new place — all very exciting and I’m happy to participate. I’m curious about the world and perfectly willing to see what it has to offer. But do I require constant stimulation and nonstop activity in order to function? Absolutely not. If my people are feeling adventurous, I’m happy to tag along and see what kind of fun we can get into. If everyone is having a quieter day and no one is up for shenanigans, I simply entertain myself for a bit and then take a perfectly respectable nap. Basically, I’m adaptable. I can enjoy the outing and appreciate the couch. Not everyone has mastered this level of life wisdom, but I have.

Could I live in an apartment? Technically, yes. I’m a reasonable, well-behaved lady and perfectly capable of going on regular leash walks like a civilized member of society. That said… would I prefer having a yard where I can run around a bit and enjoy my hobbies? Absolutely. One of my favorite pastimes is sitting outside and observing the neighborhood like the calm, fluffy supervisor that I am. I enjoy watching wildlife, people in other yards, or basically anything mildly interesting happening in the distance. So while I could adapt to apartment life, I would probably be happiest somewhere I can stretch my legs, play a little, and then sit outside like a distinguished lady quietly judging the local squirrels. It’s a very fulfilling lifestyle. Do I know any commands? Yes… kind of. I’m familiar with sit, stay, and come, which means I clearly understand the assignment. Whether I respond immediately or pause to thoughtfully consider the request is another matter entirely. As for potty training — yes, of course I am. I’m a lady. I have standards. And kennels? Never needed one. I arrived and immediately demonstrated that I am a model citizen, capable of existing in a home without causing dramatic property damage or making questionable life choices. Do I bark? Technically yes… but let’s not get carried away here. In fact, I have barked exactly once since arriving. One time. A single, tasteful contribution to the household soundtrack. And even that was on Day 2, after another dog barked first. Peer pressure is real, okay? The funniest part? The front door started to open right after that, and instead of standing there like some big dramatic guard dog, I immediately ran away. Because clearly the safest and most logical response to a door opening is to retreat and let someone else handle it. Very brave. Very strategic.

Before you get too attached (which, let’s be honest, has probably already happened), there is a small technicality involved in making me yours. Apparently you can’t just show up, scoop up 71 pounds of wonderful, and drive off into the sunset. There’s a process.

First, you’ll need to fill out an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app . I know, I know — paperwork. Tragic. But the humans insist on it so they can send it over to my foster family and make sure you’re worthy of inheriting this level of excellence. Think of it less as a form and more as your official request to join Team Zadi. Once approved, you’ll need to come pick me up in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, where I will be waiting patiently and looking extremely adorable while you finalize the best decision you’ve made in a while.

So go ahead… fill out that application. My future looks pretty great, and honestly, yours will too once I’m in it. 🐾
