Zack's Story
Hi, I'm Zack — professional snack enthusiast, couch companion, and part-time backyard zoomie champion.

Apparently humans notice my tan merle coat first, but personally I think my potato-chip ears and giant duck feet are what really make me memorable. My face may look all serious and wise, but don't let it fool you... I'm actually a goofy dude who gets very excited about basically everything.

I'm around 1–2 years old, and I'm still working on important life skills like “keeping all four paws on the floor” and “not every object is a chew toy.” I'd probably do best with older kids and home to help me keep practicing my manners. The good news? I LOVE treats, so I learn fast when snacks are involved.

So far I know sit, down, paw, and even a fancy sit pretty. My foster says I came in a little skinny, but honestly I've been working very hard on fixing that. I'm not picky either — soft treats, carrots, potatoes, eggs... I've even sampled frozen leaves during snow season. Crunchy things just speak to me spiritually.

Give me a food puzzle or a kibble toy and I can entertain myself like a genius. I love walks, zooming around the yard, and then crashing on the couch afterward like I pay rent. I sleep quietly in my crate and will politely stare at my foster at the door when I need to go outside.

With other dogs, I can come in a little too excited at first because I LOVE making friends, but once I settle down, I'm actually a really respectful guy. Cats though... probably not my thing. I'd absolutely try introducing myself with all four paws at once.

I even spent a weekend at doggy daycare recently, and honestly? I crushed it. I socialized, explored, took naps, repeated the process — basically vacation mode.

I'm neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and fully vetted. I started out as a stray, but now I'm ready for my next big adventure: finding a home with snacks, a comfy couch, and a person who wants a loyal, silly best friend forever.

If you want to apply to adopt please go to https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2638101&name=Zack

Together, we're saving lives—one by one!

One By One Rescue is an all volunteer, 501c3 non-profit foster based rescue.
