Zack's Story
Meet Zack!

Zack is impossible to miss—between his tan merle coat, potato-chip ears, and slightly oversized duck feet, he looks custom-built for maximum charm. His face says “wise philosopher,” but his wagging tail and goofy ears say “professional goofball.”

At just 1–2 years old, Zack is still polishing his manners and learning things like keeping all four paws on the ground when excited and what isn't a chew toy. He'd do best in a home with no or older children—but he's highly treat-motivated, which makes him a great student.

So far, he's mastered sit, down, paw, and a very classy “sit pretty.” He came in a bit underweight but has filled out nicely thanks to regular meals and his enthusiastic love of snacks. His menu is wonderfully simple: soft treats, carrots, potatoes, eggs... and occasionally when it snowed, to his foster's disbelief, frozen leaves (crunch = joy).

Give him a food puzzle or kibble-filled toy and he'll happily entertain himself for ages. Zack loves walks, yard zoomies, and couch time like a seasoned pro. He sleeps quietly in his crate and will politely appear at the door with the look when it's time to go out.

With other dogs, Zack can come in a little strong at first—he's just excited about life—but once introduced properly, he quickly settles into his sweet, respectful side. Cats, however, are not currently recommended... Zack is absolutely the type to try making friends with all four paws in his face.

Zack recently spent a weekend living his best life at doggy daycare, and honestly? He acted like he had always been a paid guest of honor. Socializing, exploring, snoozing, repeat—he approved of the whole experience.

Zack is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and fully vetted. From stray beginnings to shining star, he's ready for his next chapter.

Now he just needs a home with a couch, some snacks, and a person who wants a loyal, very silly best friend.

If you want to apply to adopt please go to https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2638101&name=Zack

Together, we're saving lives—one by one!

One By One Rescue is an all volunteer, 501c3 non-profit foster based rescue.
