Zachary

Zachary is a sweet and handsome guy, with thicker, soft fur, beautiful tri-colored markings, and a cute curly tail. He is 16 pounds and estimated to be 2 years old. We found Zachary in a shelter down in the Central Valley while pulling a beagle mix. We always are on the lookout for beagles or possible mixes, and the overcrowded shelter pleaded with rescues to see if we could take an additional dog or two. Struck by Zachary's coloring, we took him. We are glad we did! He has been one of our favorite fosters.<br/><br/>Zachary is a very mellow and well-behaved dog. He evidently was someone's dog before somehow ending up in the shelter. He is not high energy. He loves to stay close by someone's feet, on a lap, next to someone on the sofa, or on the back of the sofa. On Zachary's first night out of the shelter, he hopped onto the foot of the bed and slept there, without needing an invitation. He enjoys snuggling.<br/>He gets along well with other dogs, and with run and play with them a bit. Zachary enjoys walks and does very well on a leash. He is so well-behaved that, while waiting for an extended time at the animal hospital, he laid on his foster dad's lap or next to him and was not fazed by other dogs.<br/><br/>Zachary is generally quiet.
