Yuma's Story

PLEASE HELP YUMA!
WE ARE SEEKING A FAMILY TO FOSTER OR ADOPT OUR SENIOR FRIEND.

After nearly 10 years in a loving home, Yuma was returned to the shelter due to his mom's health challenges. Yuma doesn't understand what happened, and his mom is heartbroken to let go of her loving, affectionate companion.

Born approximately July 2016, this handsome Lab mix is considered a senior, but don't tell him that. He has no idea! Yuma is active, friendly, and affectionate. He likes other dogs and enjoys playing "fetch" with his people. Yuma is kennel-trained and knows basic commands. He is not a candidate for apartment living and will do best with access to a yard enclosed by a 6-ft fence. He does tend to jump up to enthusiastically greet people; our shelter volunteers are working with him on that. He is not food aggressive, but he is a thief, so watch your plate around this guy.

Yuma deserves to live his golden years in a loving home. Please, help him get out of the shelter. If you can foster or adopt this wonderful boy, submit the following application, and a volunteer will respond ASAP.

https://www.parkvilleshelter.com/adoption-application

FOPAS is primarily run by volunteers who are passionate about animal welfare and are dedicated to our animals for their entire lives. As such, we screen all potential adopters and strive to match each adopter with the perfect fit for their lifestyle and activity level.

All adopters must live within a 4-hour drive of Parkville, Missouri.
