Yoko was part of a family going through a heartbreaking situation, as her owner was terminally ill with stage four cancer. Our rescue friends stepped up to help the dogs find safety, and we're honored to be part of Yoko's next chapter.
Now that she's with us, we're discovering that Yoko is a pretty cool girl with a little spice mixed into her personality!
She can do well with other dogs, and she enjoyed running and playing with another small dog. However, Yoko takes her food seriously and does not like sharing! When food was involved, she began growling at her canine companion, so she'll need careful management around meals and other high-value items.
Yoko is also a talented little escape artist who can climb out of an open-top kennel or exercise pen. Her future family will need to be prepared to keep this clever girl safe and secure!
We think Yoko would do best in a home with calm, compatible dogs-or as your one and only-with older children or an adult-only household. Slow introductions, supervision, and separate feeding spaces will be important to help her succeed.
Yoko has been through a lot of change, but she has a whole new chapter ahead of her. If you appreciate a girl with personality, a little sass, and plenty of potential, Yoko might just be your match!
Apply to adopt at macsmission.org/adopt.
Mac's Mission - specializing in special, and helping the ones who need us most.
