Yogi's Story

Yogi is looking for a special foster-to-adopt home where he can finish his heartworm treatment and start settling into the life he deserves. <br/><br/>Yogi came to us extremely emaciated after living on a porch without access to food or water. Despite his rough start, he is a sweet, people-loving guy who is ready to put that chapter behind him.<br/><br/>He is currently going through heartworm treatment, with his second and third treatments scheduled for the beginning of September. Because he’ll need to take it easy while he recovers, Yogi is looking for a calm, relaxed environment for the next month or two. He can get excited and has plenty of personality, so his foster-to-adopt family will need to understand that keeping him quiet and allowing his body time to recover is an important part of his care right now.<br/><br/>For now, Yogi is happiest with:<br/> - Hanging out with his people<br/> - Getting plenty of pets<br/> - Chewing on a good bone<br/> - Taking slow, easy leash walks<br/> - Enjoying the comfort of a home of his own<br/><br/>Yogi has successfully met cats and can live with feline friends. He does need to be the only dog in the home.<br/><br/>Once Yogi completes his heartworm treatment and receives a negative heartworm test, he’ll be officially cleared for adoption.
