COURTESY POST! <br/><br/>MEET YETI — THE LITTLE THREE-PAW TEDDY BEAR WHO LOVES EVERYBODY <br/><br/>Some dogs arrive at the shelter frightened and unsure of the world.<br/>Yeti arrived determined to make friends with it. <br/><br/>This sweet, smaller Chow Chow was found wandering the hills outside of town, and it looked like he had been surviving on his own for quite some time. His beautiful coat was a mess of tangled fur, grass, dirt and little branches. He looked lost and disheveled, and when kind people finally found him, Yeti was begging for two things: food and attention.<br/><br/>But there was something else that worried his finders.<br/>Yeti appeared to be missing one of his back paws.<br/>They couldn't imagine how this little guy had managed alone in the hills—or what would happen if he encountered something that wanted to hurt him.<br/>When Animal Control picked Yeti up, they confirmed that his paw was indeed missing. Thankfully, it was from an old, completely healed surgery, and Yeti had already learned how to navigate life without it.<br/><br/>And apparently nobody ever told Yeti he was supposed to feel sorry for himself. <br/>Because Yeti hit the shelter and immediately decided:<br/>EVERYONE IS MY FRIEND.<br/>People? Friends.<br/>Kids? He really likes them!<br/>Shelter dogs? More friends.<br/>Someone walking past who might have a free hand for petting?<br/>Definitely a friend. <br/><br/>Yeti loves meeting people, greeting the other dogs, going for walks and soaking up every bit of affection he can get. Underneath all that Chow Chow fluff is an enormous cuddle bug who seems genuinely delighted just to be included.<br/>After lots of grooming, the tangled, bedraggled little wanderer is disappearing, too. Yeti is becoming the handsome fluffy teddy bear he was underneath all along. <br/><br/>His missing foot does mean that Yeti takes life at a somewhat slower pace. His walks aren't going to win any speed records—but Yeti couldn't care less.<br/>There are things to sniff. People to greet. Roses to smell. What's the hurry? <br/>Yeti could be just about perfect for someone looking for a laid-back companion who would enjoy:<br/> leisurely walks and outings<br/> couch-companion duties<br/> supervising you while you work in the yard<br/> riding along for errands<br/> accompanying you on pup-cup expeditions<br/> giving and receiving ridiculous amounts of affection<br/> and being a cuddle bug extraordinaire<br/>Yeti has already experienced enough uncertainty for one little dog. He wandered those hills alone, dirty, tangled and hungry, while managing on three good feet.<br/>And somehow, he came through it all still expecting the world to be a friendly place.<br/>Now he just needs the world to prove him right.<br/> YETI NEEDS A HOME<br/>The shelter is full, which means Yeti could become urgent simply because space is needed. Please don't assume that because this happy little teddy bear is safe today, he has unlimited time.<br/>If you've been wishing for a sweet, funny, easygoing companion who will happily take the slower road through life with you, come meet Yeti.<br/>He'll probably be very happy to meet you, too. <br/> Santa Cruz County Animal Care and Control<br/>Nogales, Arizona<br/> Monday–Friday, 10 AM–5 PM<br/>Evening and weekend visits may sometimes be available by appointment.<br/> Please adopt Yeti.<br/>And if you can't adopt, please share him.
