Yeti's Story

Meet Yeti, a beautiful cream standard poodle who is ready to fill your home with all the love your heart can handle. He is clumsy in the cutest way, and as soft as you imagine a cloud would be.

Yeti is a poodle mix, and will need regular grooming maintenance every 4 to 8 weeks, please do not apply if you're unable to provide such grooming needs.

HISTORY
Yeti's estimated DOB is May 30, 2025. He was surrendered to us Mid-December at 6.5 months old, as one of two left from a litter that did not get rehomed as young pups. Their parents have been sterilized, and the family needs help placing the remaining pups, so they chose to surrender them to us for help.

Yeti is located in Kennewick in Eastern Washington. We advertise our dogs in a variety of locations in an effort to improve their chances of finding great homes. We can assure you, this pup is well worth a road trip! However, if necessary we will arrange transport to bring him to an approved adoptive home within the Pacific Northwest.

SOCIALIZATION
Yeti is a giant puppy who enjoys playing with other dogs, and snuggling up to his people. He does not have any experience with cats. Yeti doesn't have any experience with pets outside of his household, but he is social and friendly, and his gentle temperament indicates that he would really enjoy a forever home with a canine companion or two.

Yeti's ideal home would be one where he is challenged. He needs someone who is going to keep him active, both physically and mentally! If you can provide Yeti with daily walks, mental enrichment, affection, regular grooming requirements, and structure, please do not hesitate to apply.

He is currently being housed with 4 other poodles, male and female. The household does not have cats. He is around people of all sizes and sexes, and loves everyone the same.

GENERAL TEMPERAMENT AND BEHAVIOR
Yeti is a very gentle giant, as we like to call dogs of his size and demeanor. While he is an active breed, and will need someone active, he also knows the value of a good chunk of sleep. This kid will curl up on the couch with you any time of the day, and enjoy every second of it.

Yeti is a high energy puppy, and needs someone who will keep up with him every day. It's not all about hiking and running though, mental stimulation is vital to keeping this boy well exercised.

TRAINING
Yeti is fully potty trained, and familiar with a crate, but he is not ever enclosed in one. He would likely adjust to being crate trained well as he already has a positive association to the one in his current home.

Yeti is entering the doggy teenage stage-also known as the "I forgot everything I've ever learned but I'm still very cute" phase. Think of it as his goofy middle school era. He may test boundaries, get distracted by a leaf blowing across the yard, and have opinions about things he didn't notice before. It's all normal, temporary, and honestly pretty hilarious. With consistency, patience, and fun training sessions, he'll grow right through it and come out the other side an amazing adult dog.

HEALTH STATUS
General info
He is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. He will be scheduled for his neutering soon and he appears to be in good health. Once full grown, he will likely be somewhere in the 60+ lbs. range.

ADOPTION
The adoption fee for Yeti is $425. For more pictures of Yeti, see his Facebook album at https://www.facebook.com/share/1CQjG12p5p/?mibextid=wwXIfr

To apply to adopt Yeti, please complete our online adoption application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA-A-76, or email HearthfireART@gmail.com and request an adoption application form.

HART dogs live in foster homes, not in a kennel facility. To respect our fosters' privacy, we make our dogs available to meet adopters only after an adoption has been approved.

HART (Hearthfire Animal Rescue Team)'s Adoption Policy
All our pets are in private foster homes. HART does not have a facility. For this reason, we introduce pets to potential adopters only after the adoption application has been approved. Our process involves: # A detailed application form, which must be submitted electronically # An online background check # Reference checks (calls to your vet, landlord, and at least two personal references) # Interviews with all the adults in the home (and, if the pet is intended primarily as a child's companion, we talk with the child) # A home visit, conducted at our discretion by a member of HART or a trusted rescue colleague Most of our pets are located in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick/Richland/Pasco) in Eastern Washington, and we place pets only in homes within the Pacific Northwest. As needed we may arrange for a trusted member of our team to transport a pet to an adopter, at the adopter's expense. We do not ever release pets to a third party for transportation; we personally introduce every pet to their adopter. HART is a registered 501(c)3 charity. We depend on adoption fees and donations to continue serving our community. We do not have an office or facility, and our team is made up only of volunteers. Our entire income goes to helping animals.
