Yancy's Story

Meet Yancy!

Yancy is a smart, beautiful and fun guy, ready to learn. He loves training! He’s a roughly 2 year old large breed blend (see dna test!) weighing roughly 65lbs.

He needs a little time to warm up to new people but then is a total love! He loves his dog friends but needs a proper intro. Yancy is a bit too excited over kitties and would do best in a home without them. A calm, confident resident dog could help Yancy with his nervousness. He is great at mimicking behavior.

Yancy is nervous in cars but is learning. He will follow a dog friend in. He walks well on leash and could be a good hiking buddy.

Yancy came to us undersocialized and it took a lot of time and patience to get him where he is. We suspect moving to a new home will also take work but Yancy is so worth it! He’s so sweet and he’s well behaved. He is house trained and can be left alone without destruction. He has in the past had a taste for crocs though, so put those away! He lets out an occasional wooo wooo!! that is surprisingly loud but otherwise, he’s pretty quiet. He likes to run and play but not overly active. Snoozing is a fav pastime! He’s not a huge digger and shows no interest in jumping fences or escaping. Don’t let those husky genes scare you!

Due to Yancy’s nervousness and lack of experience with, we seek a home without children.

EST DOB 1/15/2024

His adoption fee is $250 and includes:

Neuter
Microchip
Current vaccines
Deworming & flea treatment
Harness
Sample of food
Go home bag

Misspits Rescue is a foster based rescue run by volunteers. Misspits Rescue's Adoption Policy
Misspits Rescue takes in dogs from various sources including local shelters and owner surrenders. All dogs are current on shots, spayed/neutered, microchipped and treated for parasites prior to adoption. Dogs live in a foster home first so we are able to provide some insight into their behavior, training, likes and dislikes etc so that we can try to make the best match. Our mission is to place them in a forever home so there is a thorough adoption process including a home visit. We are a non-profit rescue and all adoption fees go back to supporting and helping more dogs. Please contact us if you are interested in one of our dogs. Thank you for considering a rescue!
