Yahoo Bull Terrier Rochester, NY

Hi my name is Yahoo. I landed here at Bull Terrier Rescue Mission about 4 mos. ago. Now I am a rambunctious 15 month old and quite the athletic girl who can jump over my 3 foot baby gate with one giant leap. So at least a 4ft fence would be be a requirement for my forever home. At about 40 lbs. I’m a little on the petite size for a bull terrier, but don’t let that fool you cause I’m strong as an ox!

I love to go on walks with my foster mom, if she moves too slow sometimes I try to encourage her to go faster by pulling on my leash a little too much. Squirrels are a bit of an issue when we’re walking because I try to chase them. She says I need to work on my leash walking skills a little longer cause I don’t have that totally perfected.

My brain is very active but after a couple hours of playing or walking and a healthy snack like peanut butter in a Kong I calm down and rest quietly in my crate. Sometimes I do get a little over stimulated and chase my tail, but if you’ll just call my name and distract me I will pull myself together.

Since I have such a high energy level I would do best in a very active family who loves to go on adventures, hikes, and other fun stuff like maybe camping, even. I love all kids, but 12 or older will be best, and I like other dogs, probably a very calm male would be a best fit to live with me. I do have a pretty strong prey drive and cats or other small animals would not be a good fit.

I don’t really like to cuddle on the couch because I am ….let’s see how do y’all say it…..a little on the busy side…so sitting still is hard for me. My foster mom sneaks me out of my crate most nights for a few one on one snuggles for as long as I can hold still.

I love playing all kinds of games like fetch and tug of war, treats of any kind, and giving kisses.

I’m a really smart dog, and would thrive best in a family with lots of time for me and some prior bull terrier experience would be a plus. I have a pretty intense personality and a lot of energy, agility/sport dog type things would be worth a try with me.
