Xeus/Zeus's Story

Xeus's owner unfortunately passed away and 4-year-old Xeus, a beautiful brindle and white boxer, was taken in by a relative. When she reached out to ARF for help placing Xeus and the group had no available foster homes, she agreed to foster him through his vetting and recuperation until he was ready for his forever home. Xeus had his first vet visit on 6/25/25 and weighed 74.5 pounds, but his last weigh in was up to 88 pounds. As many dogs in our area, Xeus originally tested positive for lymes disease, but he has been treated and now tests negative. He also had hookworms, was given two treatments of drontal, and now tests negative for worms. Xeus received several shots including 3-year DHPP, lepto, bordatella, and rabies as well as both Nexgard and Interceptor, which has been kept up-to-date. The vet discovered that Xeus had a badly cracked left upper canine tooth and a lower right side molar that had become infected. Both problem teeth were removed on 9/5/25. Xeus has healed well from his neuter (7/28/25) and his dental was the last of his vetting, which includes a microchip.

Xeus is very people friendly; everything wiggles when he sees someone. He is kid friendly and cat friendly, and he made up with the foster family's dogs right away. Xeus has had no formal training, but he will sit and shake. He rides well in a car and does okay on a leash. He likes to go on "adventures" to the neighboring farm, though, so Xeus needs a fenced yard to keep him safe. A friendly and faithful companion like this doesn't come along often! His master passed away at a young age, and Xeus deserves to be loved again! Applications for adoption are being accepted for this good boy. Get your application in asap, for this guy will be the companion you've been looking for!

UPDATE: ADOPTION PENDING!
