XENA 's Story

XENA is approx a 2 1/2 to 3 year old purebread German Shepherd
She’s slender … only approx 60 lbs

After spending time with her, we think she may have come from a puppy mill.....or a backyard breeder, both which cause over-breeding

In spite of everything she has been through She still has a JOY for life!

She is very sweet and loves people

She’s very obedient and goes right into her dog run on her own ….we don’t even have to ask….

Her re-call is excellent… she comes immediately when you call her

She’s very fun and playful, loves to run around in the back yard and play ball

She’s an excellent and alert watch dog so will help keep her family safe..

She is NOT an escape artist and has never escaped once!

She is NOT food aggressive even though she has a digestive issue
This is pretty amazing….!

QUIRKS
Xena does have some "high anxiety" going on but who can blame her as this has been hard on her, she’s lost her home and family and has been in a Rescue for over 2 years

If we can get her into a stable home, this will get better …..!

Her family life included 2 young children who she loved and was very good with but because she's high energy and active older kids 8 or above is recommended

She's dominant with other dogs especially small ones so we have to recommend that she go to a home with no other animals which makes it harder but still very possible

She DOES have EPI a digestive condition....(common to German Shepherds)

While it can be serious once it’s diagnosed it’s very manageable

She is on a special diet so she's stable however this IS a life time thing.....she will always have it but it’s just managing her diet

Her DIET: she's on No-Grain dry food with Pantenex powder, B-12 and pumpkin and Fruitables treats, that's the only kind she should have!

She just needs a home with someone who has the time and patience to handle a special needs dog but it’s also a very rewarding journey....!

She's dominant with other dogs especially small ones so we have to recommend that she go to a ho
