Xena's Story

Xena is a very sweet and very energetic little lady. She's about as jumpy as a kangaroo, but she just wants love and pets! She loves to play fetch and run around. She's pretty good around other dogs and she's good with kids as well, though she gets excited easily, so watching her to make sure she doesn't knock someone over with her jumps is a good idea. Sweet Xena just craves attention and would be a great edition to someone's family.

Vinton County Dog Shelter's Adoption Policy

Please contact us directly by phone 740-596-9285. We would love to set up an appointment for potential pet parents to meet the dogs! Our $35 adoption fee includes: current year dog license, DHLPP vaccines, microchip, flea/tick treatment, wormer, leash and collar. You will also receive an $100 fee waiver for the dog to get spay/neutered at the local veterinarian office.

Our Mission

The Vinton County Dog Shelter strives to provide stray dogs in our county with shelter during the times when they are in need, as well as to adopt out those dogs to the best homes possible.
