Xena's Story
Meet Xena — Our Little Warrior Princess!

Even though Xena came to the City shelter as a “stray,” it’s clear this tiny girl once knew love. Somewhere along the way, her family disappeared — and she was left to face the world on her own. Despite a front leg fracture that was never treated, Xena hasn’t let that slow her down one bit. Her spirit shines bright, and she’s ready to be part of a family again.

From her very first night in foster care, Xena curled up next to her foster grandma and never looked back. She’s a loyal little shadow and has a few adorable requirements for her forever home:

Toys! Soft, squeaky toys are a must — she loves chasing them when you toss them.
Lap privileges. Xena must be in your lap or right by your side. Non-negotiable. ?
Bed buddy status. She’ll snuggle up with you every night and sleep soundly by your side.
Playtime! Don’t let her leg fool you — she adores little games of chase and will bow to let you know she’s ready for fun.
Gentle accommodations. A few pet steps to the couch or bed would make life easier for her, though she’s not afraid to jump down (a soft landing is encouraged).

Xena is housetrained with a little human awareness — she’ll let you know when it’s time to go out. Since she has no teeth, she eats a soft diet and just needs her own space during meals since she eats a bit slower.

She currently lives peacefully with three other senior dogs and gets along great.

Stats:
Age: ~13 years
Weight: 6 lbs
Personality: Sweet, playful, affectionate
Special needs: Soft food & gentle handling due to leg deformity

If you’re looking for a loyal little snuggle bug who’ll love you endlessly, Xena is your girl.
