Xena's Story
Meet Xena, a beautiful adult female Husky with a gentle heart and a calm, affectionate nature. 💙

Xena may look like a classic adventurous Husky, but she's actually quite the mellow companion. She walks nicely on leash and takes in the world around her without much fuss--even when other dogs pass by, she remains relaxed and composed. In the play yard, she stayed close to her people, leaning in for pets and softly nudging for more attention once she felt comfortable.

She bonds quickly with kind, patient humans--especially women--and clearly enjoys quiet moments of connection. Xena isn't very treat-motivated, so she'll thrive with someone who values relationship-building and positive reinforcement beyond just food rewards.

Xena came to us as an owner surrender due to not adjusting well to being left alone, so she may do best in a home where she won't be left alone for long periods and where her new family can help her feel safe and secure. She is doing great in foster care with another well-behaved and well-socialized dogs.

Because she's shown some interest in fences (likely that curious Husky spirit!), a secure yard and supervised outdoor time will be important to keep her safe.

Xena is looking for a patient, understanding home where she can continue to build confidence and be someone's loyal, loving companion. If you're looking for a calm, affectionate Husky who just wants to be close to her person, Xena might be your perfect match.

Xena is in foster care, so please reach out to the shelter to schedule a meet and greet by calling during business hours: 12-5pm Tuesday-Friday and 11-2pm Saturdays.
