One dog who deserves so much more.<br/><br/>Meet Wybie, our current longest term resident here at the shelter and one of the most deserving dogs you'll ever meet.<br/><br/>With his impressive satellite ears, soulful expressive eyes, and playful terrier spirit, Wybie is a handsome and dapper boy.<br/><br/>But behind that adorable face is a young dog who has had a really tough start in life.<br/><br/>Passed from shelter to shelter as just a puppy, Wybie spent months without the stability, consistency, and love that every dog deserves.<br/><br/>Instead of spending his puppyhood learning what it feels like to be part of a family, he was constantly starting over at another scary place time after time never having a moment for his nervous system to relax.<br/><br/>As you can imagine, that left a mark. Wybie learned to be cautious of strangers and felt like he needed to protect himself in an unpredictable world.<br/><br/>Because of this, first impressions can be hard for him. Meet.and greets aren't always where Wybie shines and we totally get why.<br/><br/>But here's the thing about Wybie, once he knows he's safe, once he trusts you, he transforms into the most wonderful companion.<br/><br/>The goofy, affectionate, playful boy underneath begins to emerge. He loves running and playing with his dog friends here at the shelter, showing off his energetic personality, and curling up for a cozy nap after a day of fun.<br/><br/>He's incredibly loyal, smart, eager to learn, and has made tremendous progress with confidence building and training with the help of medication to help ease his anxiety.<br/><br/>Every day, we see more and more of the happy dog he was always meant to be.<br/><br/>Wybie doesn't need perfection. He doesn't need someone who expects him to be instantly comfortable. He just needs someone willing to give him a chance.<br/><br/>We think he'd thrive with a confident, friendly dog to help show him the ropes, and he'll need an adult only home where he can continue building trust at his own pace.<br/><br/>It breaks our hearts that this sweet boy celebrated his first birthday in a shelter after months of sitting in a cage waiting.<br/><br/>At just one year old, Wybie should be making memories with his family, not growing up behind kennel doors.<br/><br/>There is so much life, love, and potential packed into this little dog. If you are interested in meeting or adopting a dog/cat please submit an adoption application found on our website. *** CONTACT US DIRECTLY: The first step to our adoption process is to submit an adoption application. Please email the application to adoptions@serenityanimalhospital.net. The application can be found on our website www.serenityanimalhospital.net under the ‘Adoptions’ tab. You are able to complete and submit application directly from website. Once we receive your application, we will contact you within 72 hours. Please allow us this time to approve your application by calling your landlord, veterinarian and/or references. Once your application has been approved we will call you to schedule a meet and greet with our adoptable pets. If the pet you are interested in is no longer available we will reply to the email used to submit application. We will save all approved applications for 3 months, unless otherwise requested. Therefore, if you find a dog you wish to adopt within 3 months of your application being approved, you simply need to call asap to request an adoption meet & greet. However, all adoptable pets will be subject to the order of submission of desire. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A PARTICULAR PET, THAT YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION ASAP, AS WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT IN THE ORDER OF RECEIVED APPLICAITONS/REQUESTS.
