Just a sweet boy with a wagging tail and a heart that never stopped hoping.<br/><br/>Now that the calendar has turned, Wyatt believes this will be his year.<br/><br/>Wyatt is a 7-month-old Heeler mix, about 37–40 pounds, with a beautiful speckled coat, a sturdy little body made for adventure, and the softest soul. He was born deaf — but please hear this clearly:<br/>Wyatt is not broken.<br/>He is not less.<br/>He is simply different… and incredibly special.<br/><br/>Wyatt doesn’t hear the world — he feels it.<br/>He feels footsteps coming down the hall.<br/>He feels joy through vibrations and movement.<br/>He feels love the moment someone looks at him with kindness.<br/>When you lock eyes with Wyatt, his whole body lights up. That’s how he listens — with his heart.<br/><br/>And oh, is he smart.<br/>Wyatt learned hand signals quickly, follows routines beautifully, and uses an e-collar for safe recall when exploring. His deafness hasn’t slowed him down — it’s made him more tuned in, more observant, more connected to his people.<br/><br/>Wyatt is also an excellent student.<br/>Every day, he goes to a first-grade classroom with his foster mom, where eighteen little humans proudly call themselves “Wyatt’s Kids.” He sits through story time, naps under desks, accepts gentle hugs like a pro, and soaks up love in a way that melts hearts. He may not hear their giggles — but he feels every ounce of their joy.<br/><br/>Potty trained? Yes.<br/>Dog-friendly? Absolutely.<br/>People? His whole world.<br/><br/>Wyatt is that perfect in-between: playful, happy puppy energy mixed with a calm, snuggly sweetness that makes him easy to love. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home. <br/><br/>Current Adoption Fees Are:<br/>$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old<br/>$375+tax for ages 4-7<br/>$275+tax for ages 8 and up<br/>Bonded pairs vary<br/><br/>The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
