Wookiee's Story

Wookiee is a very smart, handsome, healthy, and incredibly lovable boy who truly adores people. He greets everyone with enthusiastic kisses and thrives on human connection. True to Akita nature, he can also be quite the independent boy at times. He's house trained, crate trained, and a great walker, making him an easy companion both at home and out and about. Wookiee loves to play, enjoys his toys, and already knows basic commands like sit and down.

At his age, Wookiee is still in that fun, youthful stage and can be a little stubborn at times. However, he has been working consistently with a trainer in his foster home and is improving every day. He's very treat-motivated and eager to learn, which makes continued training both rewarding and effective. He loves spending time with his foster family and sleeps soundly through the night in the bedroom, happily settling on the hardwood floor or a cozy rug. Wookiee would do best in a home where someone is around much of the time, as he enjoys companionship and being part of his people's daily routine.

Wookiee has a beautiful, fluffy double coat that's irresistibly soft, but it does require regular grooming and brushing to keep it looking its best so his forever family should plan for routine grooming. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations and in excellent health. He would do best in a home with older children who understand and respect a dog's space. Wookiee also does very well playing with other dogs at doggy daycare and would enjoy a home in a neighborhood where he can get regular walks and moderate daily exercise.
