Woofy's Story

Woofy is available for adoption with @cletusthebestestboy .

He is a described as a seven year old senior German shepherd mix found as a stray. While we know nothing about his past, he is extremely kind and docile given the amount of nervousness he has.

Woofy loves to be in the crate when Cletus shares. He also loves to lay on his cot. He enjoys sleeping and is very low energy for the most part. He will require space FOR A CRATE at minimum, for him to feel safe. This is his place of solitude and he rather be there.

He is playful yet shy. He’s a stage three clinger who loves to be close to anyone as long as they’re touching or petting him.

He has been in foster care with @cletusthebestestboy for over FOUR months now with no fit for a forever home just yet.

He has learned better leash manners. Attended group session with @ericandcaprithepup. Learned how to SIT. And is now cat desensitized out on walks. He has been inside one home with serval cats and did ok, but slow introduction would be best IF an adopter has cats.

He is great with respectful / calm kids who understand he’s older. He’s interacted with children from 2 to 15, he leans in for pets and loves the attention. The toddler grabbed his face and eyes out of excitement and he did not flinch or growl etc.

Woofy likes a quick brisk run. He would do fine with someone who lives in an apt (needs work with stairs higher the four— must be on first floor or have an elevator). Would do well for someone who works a lot.

He just needs a place to lay his head!

He would benefit from continued training. And will be arranged and discussed per his adoption.

*IF YOU’RE UNWILLING TO CONTINUE THESE SESSIONS OR THE NECESSARY WORK FOR SAFE LEASH WALKING THAT HE HAS ALREADY MADE PROGRESSION WITH, please consider adopting another pet better suited for you!
