Wiz is up for adoption here at Shiba Rescue of New Jersey.<br/>Wiz was welcomed into SRNJ on Oct. 31st, 2025.<br/>He was an Owner Surrender to our Rescue. <br/>His current owners took him in 3.5 months ago from his original owners because they moved and couldn't take Wiz with them.<br/>The new owners tried to make things work out in their home but their busy household and the children were not a good fit for Wiz.<br/>Although Wiz lived previously with 4 young children, the 3 year old in the last home was too rough with Wiz and jumped on him on two separate occasions while Wiz was resting in his bed. <br/>The child was constantly agitating Wiz to no fault of his own. <br/>Wiz is an 8 year old Red male Shiba who is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and house broken. He travels great in a car.<br/>Here is what Foster Mom Jody says about Wiz:<br/>Vince and I picked Wiz up from a family in Cherry Hill, three weeks ago. Ever since the moment we accepted him into our home he has been a sweet, loving pup! Wiz will sit with you for hours and give affection the entire time. If you are looking for a dog who takes up space in your heart, Wiz is your guy!<br/>He has also been a perfect “mate” Wiz walks well w/a harness, and “wizzes” ? outside while walking. He has NOT gone to the bathroom in our home a single time. He hasn’t chewed on a single item and was super friendly to our friends/family when we held an EAGLES (win) here! He is also great in the backyard, so he would be BEST with a family in a home with a yard and a fence. But I believe he’d be okay in a condo too! He hasn't tried to run a single time, unusual for a Shiba!<br/>Wiz will sleep anywhere that you desire. He has been sleeping both on our couch (covered w/a blanket) or in his doggie bed in our bedroom. Wiz is easy-peasy in the car, and he has been WONDERFUL when we go out & have left him alone. We did take him to the vet for a dental. *One thing we would suggest is that he be in a family w/either adults or children over 10 years old. He was great w/out eight-year-old granddaughter, but he is a pup who enjoys “peacefulness”. He wasn’t good w/his original owner's “rambunctious” 3-year-old only because the kid used to jump on him. You CAN'T blame a dog if it's trying to protect itself, can you? <br/>Parents NEED to teach their kids how to respect their pets!<br/>He’d be best as an only pup. <br/>Wiz is a healthy and happy 8-year-old “dude”! <br/>If you can open your hearts and home to Wiz, this would be the best gift someone can give him.<br/>This boy has been bounced around and has endured enough.<br/>He so deserves a loving furever home.<br/>Can You Be That Person Wiz is Looking For???<br/>Please go to www.shibarescuenj.org and fill out an Adoption Application.
