Wish's Story

Got a wishlist you've been looking to complete? Well, look no further than this handsome boy - Wish!
Wish is a 1 and a half year old neutered Pointer mix. His start to the holiday season has been rough, but he's waiting for some magic to turn his luck around!
Wish was found as a stray, and sadly his owner never came looking for him, leading us to believe he was likely dumped. This sweet boy definitely deserves better, as he is such a love bug. Wish loves attention, and is always happy to spend time with his favorite people. He can be a bit needy at times, so if you like your dogs more independent, he might not be a good fit - but if you love a dog that wants to be your best friend all the time, this is your match! Being so young still, Wish also has plenty of energy and needs an owner with the free time to work with him. He loves to play fetch, and is always down for a good game of tag.
Since Wish was a stray, we unfortunately don't know much about his background. He hasn't seemed to mind kids or other dogs when they pass by his kennel, and actually seemed excited to see them. We introduced him to another dog, and got some mixed reactions. At first, he was super excited to have a buddy, but later he didn’t seem like he wanted to play. He briefly met one of our office cats and seemed very interested in him, but wasn't showing any aggression. We always recommend a meet and greet with any potential siblings to make sure it's a good match. With Wish being high in energy, he might not be a good fit for homes with elderly pets, or pets that are really picky about personal boundaries. Wish also has a tendency to jump, so until he is trained he should be watched around small children to make sure he's not knocking them over.
Wish is going to need a brush up on his training. He doesn't appear to be fully housebroken, as he still has quite a few accidents in his kennel. He knows how to sit on command, and does pretty well with his recall, however. He is a very smart boy and is eager to please, so with some dedication he shouldn't give you too much trouble!
Wish is ready to boss up and settle down into his forever home! He has received his first round of vaccinations and is ready to find a family that will love him like he deserves. If you've been looking for a Christmas miracle, then Wish might just be your guy!
