Winter's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Winter! He is a gentle, loving, shy, dog-friendly 6yr old male Great Pyrenees. Initially he was severely underweight and lethargic, now he is a much healthier weight around 80lbs.

This amazingly gentle. beautiful soul has slowly opened up in his foster home, every day he has more of a spring to his step. He is one of the most loving dogs.

He loves dogs and fits right in with the four dogs in his foster home. He does well with any new foster dogs, puppies, and friends dogs that stay over. He is playful and has moments of PURE happiness.

Winter starts out shy with new people but is getting better at warming up quickly, the more he realizes people are kind. He gets really happy when his family comes home and will do a little dance. He will seek affection from them and enjoys being in the same room. He is good with children.

He loves walks and is perfect on the leash. He has never had an accident in the house. No need to be crated.

His biggest fear is sudden loud noises, but he is improving. He is also a little frightened of going through doorways, but will do so if encouraged.

He is truly a beautiful dog, inside and out!

Winter is currently in a foster home in DFW area of Texas. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He is heartworm positive and currently undergoing slow kill treatment. SPIN Rescue will provide adopters with medication to continue. His adoption fee is $250.

If you think he would be a good fit for your home, please apply to adopt at www.spinrescue.org and we would love to arrange a meet!
