Winston's Story
**If interested, please do not send us a message through PetFinder. Instead, please go to our website to fill out an application: www.projectpawsdogrescue.com**

Winston is an approximately 5 month old Shepherd/Husky/Rottie mix coming into rescue with his 2 brothers.

Winston is a spunky, funny and energetic puppy. He loves to play with his toys and chase leaves and balls. His favourite thing is to grab his treasures and hide under the couch with them. Keep your socks safe because he'll sneak away with those too.

Winston knows how to raise the roof but he's also a total cuddlebug. He's often caught with a small smile when he gets to sleep on his foster's lap while she works. Winston is incredibly food-motivated and smart as a whip. He tracks his mealtimes diligently; if his foster is late with his breakfast or dinner, he'll paw at his food bag and stare up at her expectantly.

When Winston first came into rescue, he was nervous of new people and his new environment, but he has improved tremendously in that respect. With a little food motivation, he now happily greets people and is excited to accept a good bum scratch. His adopters will need to continue with his socialization as well as giving him structure, routine and building his confidence with ongoing training. Winston is also doing very well with his potty training and will settle in his crate so long as it's covered by a blanket; he does currently sleep in it through the night without issue.

Winston does very well with other dogs; he is playful but respectful. He understands how to be gentle with his smaller foster siblings and if they're not in the mood to play, he knows how to entertain himself. He has not been tested with cats or children.

Winston is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations; now he just needs to find his forever home!
