Winston's Story
Meet this happy little gentleman, Winston! At 15 years old and just 6 pounds, this adorable senior still has plenty of curiosity and charm.Winston is a spry senior looking for his retirement home. Despite his age, 15 yrs, he still has bursts of energy to go on walks with you, but his favorite thing is to cuddle for long warm naps. Winston is great around other dogs, cats, and people of all ages. If he gets overwhelmed, he will just find a quiet place to take a break.

Winston does have some peculiarly habits when it comes to eating and is known to be very picky, refusing to eat dog food and mainly chowing down on fresh cooked chicken. We figure that Winston can live the rest of his life in Luxury and eating gourmet food!

Winston unfortunately does have early-stage kidney disease but this is currently not manifesting in any symptoms. What this means long term is that Winston may need some symptomatic treatment as he gets older and the disease progresses and some added veterinary care.

As Winston has some separation anxiety, his perfect home would be with someone who works from home or can bring him to work with him as he will happily hang out in his kennel next to your desk :)

Winston also requests his new home gives him his own personal wardrobe as he can get cold easily.

If you think you could help this senior retire to his perfect home, contact the Steele County Humane Society.

Weight: 6 lbs
Age: 15 years old
Good with: Dogs, other animals, and children
Personality: Sweet, gentle, curious, and affectionate
Special Considerations: Early-stage kidney disease and currently prefers a diet of plain chicken.
Adoption fee: $150
Contact 507-451-4512 or steelecountyhumanesociety@gmail.com to start the adoption process.
