He was so fearful that we worried about what his past might have been like and wondered how long it might take before he felt safe enough to trust people again. Happy to report that Winston is coming out of his shell! <br/><br/>Over the past few weeks, this beautiful boy has made friends with dozens of people!! He is going on regular walks, experiencing the world a little more confidently, and discovering something he clearly treasures: being loved.<br/><br/>Winston is grateful for every moment someone spends simply sitting with him and petting him. You can see how much those quiet moments mean to him. <br/>We are incredibly proud of his progress—but we also want to be honest about what Winston still needs.<br/><br/>He can be easily startled by sudden movements or quick gestures, particularly from people he doesn't know well. He is still a sensitive boy who needs people willing to move at his pace and understand that trust isn't built overnight.<br/><br/>For that reason, we're looking for a quiet, peaceful home where Winston can be the only pet. He doesn't need a chaotic household or a home where he will constantly be asked to adjust. He needs someone who will give him time, patience, reassurance, and the freedom to become comfortable at his own speed.<br/><br/>We truly believe Winston is going to become a treasured companion for the person who gives him that chance.
