Winslow arrived in rescue after coming from a puppy mill in a rural area during winter. He arrived heartworm positive, but has been treated and is doing great! He has settled into foster care nicely and has been loving learning how to "dog". His foster mom says: Winslow is a sweet, sensitive boy who is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can blossom at his own pace. Loud noises and raised voices can be frightening for him, so he would do best in a calm, quiet environment without children. Winslow takes time to build trust with new people, but once he feels safe his cute personality emerges. He absolutely loves to be brushed and will sit for hours enjoying the attention. This is the perfect opportunity to bond with him and build trust. Once comfortable, he'll paw at your hand for pets. He gets along well with the dogs in his foster home. While he isn't interested in playing, he is content hanging out alongside them. Winslow could do well as an only pup or with another calm pup, similar in size and age appropriate. A secure, fenced yard is a must for Winslow, HE WILL escape if given the opportunity or if something scares him!! He loves being outside and often has to be convinced that it's time to come back indoors! He does not currently walk on a leash, and he is still working on house training, so his future family should be prepared to continue helping him learn. Winslow gets excited when it's time for bed, knowing that belly rubs are coming till it's time to fall asleep.
