Winnie's Story

WInnie

Winnie is a 9-12 month old Shepherd mix searching for the person she's meant to spend the rest of her life with

Winnie came from an abusive situation, so she can be very timid and unsure when meeting new people. She needs someone who understands that trust takes time and that love, patience, and consistency go a long way. Like many Shepherds, Winnie is a dog who will bond deeply with her person. Once you earn her trust, you'll have a loyal best friend by your side.

Winnie is still working on her housebreaking and will need a family willing to continue helping her learn and grow. She rides great in the car and would love a home with someone who enjoys taking their dog along for life's adventures.
Because of her past, Winnie does struggle with separation anxiety. Her ideal home would be with someone who is home more often than not, works from home, is retired, or simply enjoys having their dog as a constant companion.

Winnie does not do well in a traditional wire crate and can break out of one if confined. She will need a home that understands her needs and can help her feel safe and secure without relying on a standard crate.

She is good with most dogs and enjoys having canine friends around, but a meet and greet is recommended .

Winnie isn't looking for perfection, and neither are we. She's looking for someone who will see beyond her fears, celebrate her progress, and love her for exactly who she is. The best things in life are worth waiting for, and Winnie is no exception.

❤️ We're not looking for just any home for Winnie. We're looking for her person. Could that be you?

Applications can be done at asaprescue.org

Winnie is spayed , microchipped , current on vaccines , and current on flea and heartworm prevention .
