WINNIE's Story

Meet Winnie, a beautiful young lady with a loving heart who is ready to find her perfect match!

Winnie is a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely adores people—especially children and babies. She’s incredibly gentle and curious, often wanting to be close so she can see what everyone is up to. In fact, she’s known as our little “nosey” girl because she loves checking in on the family, especially the baby, to make sure she’s part of the action.

Winnie gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She has attended doggy daycare a few times and always receives great reports for being social and playful. She especially enjoys playing with other dogs through the fence and loves having canine friends around. She may bark when she sees other dogs or strangers like delivery drivers, but it’s simply her way of saying hello—she’s not aggressive at all.

This affectionate girl is also a world-class cuddler. Winnie loves nothing more than curling up next to her people or resting her head on you for some extra love. She has a charming little quirk too—she sometimes collects rocks and proudly brings them to her humans like tiny treasures she’s found.

Winnie is still working on her leash skills and would benefit from some continued training, but she’s a smart young dog who will thrive with patience and guidance. She would love a yard where she can stretch her legs and freely romp & play.

Winnie originally came to our rescue as a tiny 3-month-old puppy and was adopted along with her brother, Jack. Sadly, the family’s young child developed respiratory difficulties due to a dog allergy, and they were heartbroken to return them. Winnie would absolutely love to be adopted with Jack again, but it’s not required.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you company, make you laugh, and shower you with cuddles, Winnie may just be the perfect addition to your family.

Winnie is a female Great Pyrenees/Yellow Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd who was was born 10-1-24 and currently weighs 78.6 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, tested heartworm negative and given heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website. Our Adoption Team will respond via email from DollysLegacyAdoptions@gmail.com once you have completed an application. If a pet is still listed, it is not yet adopted as we update daily. All information regarding adoption policies are on our website***

Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your viewing our Petfinder page for Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue with your interest in adopting one of our beautiful orphaned pets. We are a foster-home based rescue group and do not have a facility. All of our adoptable pets with their photos, descriptions, adoption fees & most information requested about them can be seen on our website which is updated daily at this link: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/ If they are still listed on our website, they have not yet been adopted. Since most of the pets we rescue have been orphaned or abandoned, we are not certain of their breed/mix and are not able to pinpoint how big they will be full-grown if they are still young. We do our best to determine the breed(s) they most closely resemble. The first step is to have you complete our online adoption application. Please visit our website at this link to see our adoption guidelines, on this page you will also find the link to complete & submit an adoption application: http://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/guidelines-application.html All adoption appointments are scheduled after your application has been approved. Preference is given to those with a verifiable veterinary reference, home ownership & fenced yard, although not required. Home ownership is verified through court records. If you are a renter, you must provide landlord contact information. We need all family members or those living within your home, including pets (dogs not cats), to be present for an appointment. We do not "hold" pets for a specific date. If you are going on vacation, or cannot take when the pet is available, please wait to apply until you are ready to adopt. We do out of state/area adoptions, but approved adopters are required to come to an adoption appointment, we do not ship pets. The final approval to adopt is after we have met applicants and feel they are the right match for that particular pet. Be sure to "like" our page on Facebook where you will find more photos and to learn more about our rescue.https://www.facebook.com/DollysLegacyAnimalRescue?ref=hl
