Winnie's Story

Meet Winnie!

Winnie is looking for a patient, loving family to call her own. She can be timid when meeting new people, especially men, but once she feels safe, she’s a loyal cuddle bug who loves being close to her person. She is around two years old and did not have a great life before coming to us.

Winnie gets along great with cats and other dogs. She would likely do best with a smaller dog, a very gentle larger dog, or as the only dog in the home. She loves playing in the water, short hikes, taking slow walks to smell everything, and relaxing with her family. She’s also kennel trained and enjoys having her own cozy space, like a sunny bay window or the back of a couch.

Winnie is so loving with people she knows but it takes her a moment to trust. She is best in a home without kids or with older kids (over 12). A home with a secure yard is best for her.

If you’re willing to give Winnie the time and love she needs to build trust, you’ll be rewarded with a wonderful, affectionate companion.

Winnie is vaccinated, spayed and chipped. Her adoption fee is $450

We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life!

To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!

If you are interested in adopting one of our available dogs, you can visit our website savinggreatanimals.org and submit an application. We will then connect you with the dog's foster family for a meet and greet. Saving Great Animals offers a two week trial adoptions for all dogs, to make sure they are indeed a good match for you. During the trial adoption we are here to support you with advice and training. Saving Great Animals is a match-making service and not a shelter. We do not have a public facility for you to visit as all of our animals are placed in foster homes. This is a better environment for the animal and also allows us to learn more about their behaviors before they are adopted. If you are interested in meeting an adoptable pet, please submit an application for that animal via our website and we will then connect you with the foster family for a meet and greet.
