Winnie's Story

Meet Winnie!

A border collie mix that has one heck of a story. Winnie was being watched by a family for a week. That week went by and her owners never picked her up. They completely ghosted and dumped Winnie on these people. They had her for 5 years, living in a garage, completely under-socialized. That’s when we were contacted to help. I was told Winnie would be euthanized if we couldn’t help, so I went to assess her. What I found, was a dog with no direction. She was pretty awful on a leash and terrified of other dogs, but could you blame her? Currently, she resides at Paws Up Vacay, working on rehabilitation! She’s been getting socialized and doing amazingly. Winnie definitely needs work, but with the right handler, she’ll be amazing! She’s got a toy drive and really bonds with her owner. She’ll need to be managed in a home with another dog, I could see her guarding valuable items or handlers. I think she’d do best in a Border collie savvy home, like the amazing working dog I know she is!

If you want to meet Winnie, please contact us via petfinder or by filling out our dog adoption form! Thank you 🐾
