Winn Dixie's Story

Meet Winn-Dixie

Winn-Dixie is the kind of dog that quietly steals your heart. This adorable scruffy little girl loves being close to her people and has the sweetest habit of simply sitting beside you, gazing up with those soulful eyes, happy just to be included.

At only about a year old, Winn-Dixie is still very much a puppy. Shes curious, playful, and learning her manners. Like any youngster, shell occasionally test boundaries, but her goal is always to please. Shes very food motivated, making training both easy and rewarding.

One of Winn-Dixies most endearing qualities is how she connects with people through touch. If shes sitting beside you, dont be surprised to feel a gentle paw resting on your leg or a soft nudge from her nose. Its her sweet way of checking in, reminding you shes there, and asking, Can I be part of what youre doing? Its impossible not to smile.

Winn-Dixies Highlights:
-Affectionate and people-oriented
-Gentle, quiet personality
-About 1 year old with playful puppy energy
-Food motivated and eager to learn
-Walks beautifully on a leash
-Great with other dogs
-Cat friendly
-Learning to respect chickens
-Enjoys puzzle toys and enrichment

Meet Winn-Dixie

Winn-Dixie is the kind of dog that quietly steals your heart. Her superficial wounds are healing well, and she continues to make great progress every day.

She has an injury to her right rear leg that causes a slight limp. While she gets around well, adopters should be aware that this injury may contribute to arthritis or require pain management as she ages. At this time, surgery is not anticipated, but her long-term comfort should be monitored by her veterinarian.

Winn-Dixie is also recovering from an injury to her right eye. Although it has improved, it is not healing as expected. We are currently seeking evaluation by a veterinary ophthalmologist to determine the best course of treatment and her long-term prognosis.

Winn-Dixies Perfect Home:

Winn-Dixie is not just looking for a home, she is looking for her person.
She will thrive with someone who enjoys including their dog in everyday life. Whether its hiking, neighborhood walks, road trips, dog-friendly adventures, training classes, or simply relaxing together at home, Winn-Dixie wants to be your partner.

She would likely excel in obedience, Canine Good Citizen, scent work, trick training, or volunteer programs like reading with children or visiting nursing homes. She has the intelligence, curiosity, and gentle temperament to become an incredible canine companion.
Most of all, Winn-Dixie is looking for someone who sees their dog as family, a four-legged child to love, teach, and include in lifes adventures. If you are the kind of person who talks to your dog, celebrates their accomplishments, laughs at their silly moments, and treasures the gentle nudge of a nose or the soft touch of a paw, Winn-Dixie just might be your perfect match.

Winn-Dixies adoption donation helps cover the cost of her medical care, medications, veterinary services, spay surgery, microchip, and other expenses associated with preparing her for adoption. As a nonprofit, every adoption donation helps us continue giving dogs like Winn-Dixie the care they need while waiting for their forever home.

Winn-Dixies Perfect Home:

Winn-Dixie isnt just looking for a home, shes looking for her person.
Shell thrive with someone who enjoys including their dog in everyday life.
