Windy's Story

Windy is perfect. She is the perfect mix between couch potato and fun hiking buddy. She is currently working on losing about 10-15 lbs and we want her new family to continue her weightloss journey so she can stay active in her senior years. Miss Windy is said to be about 10 years old. She recently had a dental, started on glucosamine to support her joints, and has been crashing at a foster home living the good life! She would love to be your walking or hiking buddy! She can go for miles (Even more when she loses a few!) and LOVES when water is involved. She is SMART, and would do great in any loving home with an active family. She would thrive as an only dog to soak up all your attention, or with other friendly dogs as well. Kids? Sure! She is CAT FRIENDLY, very food motivated and she knows how to use the dog door. She rides great in the car and walks amazing on a leash. Did we mention she's perfect?

The best quirk about Windy is that the little tip of her tongue hangs out quite often. The way her canine teeth are placed, seems to allow her tongue to slip through (especially when she is sleeping) and it just adds to her sweet charm. She truly is the best girl!

Windy is incredibly well trained with great off leash recall and awesome home and social skills. She loves all animals and people- you would think someone would have claimed her when she was found as a stray with how perfect she truly is.

Here's to an even better family and the best chapter of her life! Is that you? We want her to find a family who will be as obsessed with her as her foster mom is! We can't wait to find her furever family. Contact us to schedule a meet and greet with her foster family!
We do not see Petfinder inquiries! Please visit our website www.grandrivershumane.org to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our upcoming adoption event locations.
